Platinum Blonde
This is one of the most famous and popular shades of blonde thanks to Marilyn Monroe. Platinum blonde is probably one of the lightest shades of the entire blonde spectrum and it is ideally suited to fair to medium skin tones. When it comes to eye colour, platinum blonde is pretty neutral and will suit all eye colours, although blue and hazel eyes to seem to stand out more with this shade.
Light Ash Blonde Hair
This shade of blonde is what we would refer to as a ‘whiter shade’ with an ash or grey tint. You will often hear light ash blonde referred to as cool platinum and it is better with a lighter skin tone and lighter eye colours like blue or grey.
Natural Blonde
The name is a giveaway here. It is a blonde that looks as if it is totally natural and has not been tampered with, but of course it is a shade and technique. To achieve this look it is necessary to use several different shades of blonde. Being a mixture of shades, it suits all skin tones and eye colours and it can be adjusted to darker or lighter as required.
Strawberry Blonde
This is another famous shade of blonde. It is called strawberry blonde because it has a very slight warm reddish-blonde hue. This particular shade of blonde is best suited to people with fair skin and lighter eyes.
Silver Blonde
This shade of blonde hair has a cool ash shade with a silvery / sterling hue to it. You will find that this is best suited to lighter complexions and eyes and it is often used by ladies that have hair slightly greying.
Dirty Blonde
Dirty blonde is so called because of the shades used which gives it slight tones of wheat colour, which is where the term ‘dirty’ comes from. It is a medium-hued blonde ideal with people with green or brown eyes and a medium-toned skin.
Ash Blonde
This is another very popular tone of blonde widely used. It is a slightly darker shade of blonde with a silvery glow. It is a good choice for people with darker natural hair colours who wish to go blonde. It is also another great option for people with natural grey tones in their hair to help it blend naturally to blonde.
